Community Awareness Campaign on Preventing Suicide and Child Marriage
On 24 January 2024, DIA held a courtyard meeting at Bishoykhali Bazar, Jhenaidah Sadar, as part of a community awareness campaign on preventing suicide and child marriage. The campaign was supported by the Department of Social Services and implemented by Disability Inquisition Activities (DIA).
Women, men and community leaders took part in an open discussion about the warning signs of suicide, the harm caused by child marriage, and where families can turn for help.
Changing norms together
Courtyard meetings are one of the most effective ways to reach families at their doorstep. By talking openly in a familiar setting, communities begin to challenge harmful practices and protect their children and young people.
